Motor Mouth is a small background application that utilises Microsoft Text To Speech engine to read the
contents of a certain window or the clipboard. The motivation behind this project is aimed at use in conjunction
with email and chat programs.
Future Areas of Development
Specific application monitoring
Alert monitoring
More intelligent analysis of text before reading
Inclusion of Speech recognition to insert text in current application or specific application
Bugs and issues
Current version is little more than a prototype
Mouse monitoring for window selection is inconvenient
Currently re reads entire window contents on content change
Main window options have no effect
No control over voice selection
Current Status
Currently Motor mouth is functional, but lacks any real features. The major issue to be resolved is the implementation of
specific application monitoring. This will allow a specific application to be selected, say MSN Messenger for example,
and then read any new chat messages aloud automatically. The version on this website tends to speak a lot of rubbish
and is very dumb in terms of deciding what it should and should not read out, i.e. it reads everything, which most of the
time is a bit much.
